The Riverboat Wedding, a love affair that has crossed continents to arrive back on a Cheshire river.

Our antipodean bride Kate from Sydney and our Scouse (colloquial slang for a Liverpudlian) groom, tied the knot back in Sydney but had come over to England to celebrate with friends and family who could not make it out to Australia. In getting to know Phil during the booking phase, I came to understand Phil’s love for film and documentaries and I was thrilled that they had given me the opportunity to work with them on the creation of their wedding film.

They had decided to have their celebration on the boat SS Daniel Adamson. This remarkable survivor from the steam age was restored from a rusting hulk to a working boat by Phil’s deceased father, so the boat meant a lot to Phil and his family. The boat now operates as day cruiser and is commonly know as The Danny.

I picked up the story in Liverpool and enjoyed the journey to the boat mooring in Cheshire. On arrival, we were entertained by an authentic Parisian accordionist who lifted the atmosphere with his fantastic music.  The event soon moved into cocktail hour and then on to some heartfelt speeches, that contained some fab Scouse humour as well as some great stories about Phil’s dad. The party got started and the guys hit the dance floor hard, and we were rocking and the boat was rolling, it was a blast till late in the evening.

It was a pleasure to work for Kate & Phil and they were thrilled with the films I created for them.

“You, sir, are a genius, this is BRILLIANT! I love it so much.” “Mate, you have outdone yourself! That is incredible!! I couldn’t love it any more.”
